Where practical, WasyTech utilities are open source — auditable, forkable, and free to use.

Why we open-source

Utilities earn trust when their behaviour can be inspected. Publishing source lets anyone verify that a tool does exactly what it claims — no hidden trackers, no unexpected network calls, no bundled extras. Open source also lets the community fix bugs, port to new platforms, and keep tools alive over the long term.

Licenses we use

WasyTech utilities are released under widely-understood permissive and copyleft licenses, chosen per project:

  • MIT — permissive; use, modify, and redistribute with attribution.
  • GPLv3 — copyleft; derivative works remain open under the same terms.

The license for each utility is shown on its product page and in its repository. Full text is collected on the licenses page.

Contribution principles

  • Keep each utility focused on a single, well-defined problem.
  • Prefer local processing; avoid adding network dependencies.
  • No advertising SDKs, trackers, or telemetry-by-default.
  • Keep footprints small and startup fast.
  • Document compatibility, licensing, and privacy clearly.

Reporting security issues

Please report suspected vulnerabilities privately rather than opening a public issue. Use the security policy in the relevant repository, or contact us so we can investigate and coordinate a fix before disclosure.

Repositories and official downloads

Source repositories and official downloads are complementary. A repository lets you review and build the code yourself; official downloads (when published) provide signed, ready-to-run builds. Each product page links to a repository only when a real repository exists, and links to downloads only when a valid build is available.
